An Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, managing their accounts, and driving sales growth. They serve as the primary point of contact for clients and are responsible for understanding their needs, providing solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • • Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with assigned clients. Serve as the main point of contact, understand their business goals and challenges, and maintain regular communication to address their needs and provide support.
  •  • Account Development: Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts by upselling and cross-selling additional products or services. Collaborate with clients to understand their evolving needs and propose solutions that align with their objectives. 
  • • Sales and Revenue Generation: Meet or exceed sales targets by actively promoting products or services to clients. Conduct sales presentations, negotiate pricing and contract terms, and close deals. Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth within assigned accounts. 
  • • Needs Analysis and Solution Proposal: Conduct thorough needs assessments and analysis of clients' requirements. Understand their pain points and challenges and propose tailored solutions that address their specific needs. Present and demonstrate the value proposition of products or services to clients. 
  • • Account Planning: Develop account plans and strategies to effectively manage and grow client accounts. Set clear objectives, define action plans, and identify key milestones and timelines. Continuously monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed. 
  • • Client Retention: Proactively manage client satisfaction and retention. Regularly engage with clients to ensure their needs are being met, resolve any issues or concerns, and seek feedback on their experience. Anticipate potential risks or challenges and take proactive measures to maintain strong client relationships. 
  • • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Liaise and collaborate with internal teams, such as sales, marketing, product development, and customer support. Coordinate resources, communicate client requirements and expectations, and ensure effective delivery of products or services. 
  • • Sales Reporting and Forecasting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, activity reports, and sales forecasts. Analyze sales data, track progress against targets, and provide regular reports to management. Use data insights to drive decision-making and identify areas for improvement. 
  • • Professional Development: Stay updated on product knowledge, industry trends, and sales techniques. Attend training programs, workshops, and industry events to enhance skills and knowledge.

Must Have

  • • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. Additional certifications or qualifications in sales or account management are advantageous. 
  • • Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) in sales, business development, or account management roles, preferably in a B2B (business-to-business) environment. • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving sales targets. 
  • • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to understand and address client needs. • Strong relationship-building and networking abilities. 
  • • Ability to analyze client data, identify trends, and derive insights. • Proficiency in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software and MS Office applications. 
  • • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple client accounts. 
  • • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • • Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and client requirements.
